Project Overview
Extensive renovations took three months to restore this house to its former glory.
To enlarge the living area and maximize natural light, a load-bearing wall between the living room and the conservatory was removed. Two steel beams (IPE) were installed with a post-and-beam system on a concrete foundation beam. A polished concrete slab was poured over the living room floor. A new kitchen was installed, featuring walnut cabinetry and a quartz countertop.
Upstairs, the parquet flooring was sanded and varnished, and each bedroom was repainted with modern, neutral colors. The bathroom was completely renovated, including a double vanity unit and wall-hung toilets.
To minimize the house's energy consumption, the windows were replaced with double glazing, and a pellet stove was installed in the living room as the main heating source. Finally, the attic was insulated with eco-friendly cellulose insulation.
The Smith family is thrilled with their 110m² home located in a peaceful Paris neighborhood.
